TOP COP SHOCK ROCKS BLOCKS
Vancouver Chief of Police Jamie Graham (shown here at Pride Day 2006) announced recently that he will be stepping down as of the end of his current contract. As usual, the scandal-plagued VPD could not be reached for comment, as they were busy conducting the internal enquiry into who gets to ice him so he don't blab.

What are some of the scandals?
For some the greatest scandal of his tenure involved the Stanley Park Six, in which six rogue officers rounded up some drug dealers, took them to a secluded part of Stanley Park, and assaulted them.
For others it was the complete mishandling of Aaron Webster's murder, in which the VPD decided that a bunch of teenagers taking bats into a park at night probably didn't intend to commit a hate crime, and so the police never recommended such charges be laid.
In both cases, the situations were dealt with by internal enquiry. Personally, this over-reliance on internal enquiry didn't do anything to engender trust in the police force.
