I intuit that this will be a short-lived social controversy. In short order we will figure out exactly how stem cells do what they do and synthsize a cruelty-free shade-grown fairly-traded alternative and then we can all start drinking, eating a smoking with utter abandon as they do on Star Trek.

Previously, stem cells came from foetuses (foeti?) which is what got the fundies all up in arms. They who don't believe in killing anything until it's born.

Newer stocks of stem cells used in the UK come from donors or umbilical cords or something. End of story.

Funny, I would have thought someone would call me on my assertion that there's no cure for ignorance. Or was it that obvious that I was being sarcastic?

Quite obvious.

Good. Because I do have a real problem with subtlety.
