Pop History Moment: Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock
On this day in 1969 the Woodstock Festival ended with a searing rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner by one of the rock era's most electrifying performers, Jimi Hendrix; although attendance at Woodstock peaked around 500,000 only about 180,000 die-hards remained to witness Hendrix's two hour performance, which culminated in this number.
