Featuring a very special guest star... Chastity Bono! This clip from the The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour highlights everything that was most fabulous about Sonny & Cher: the eye-popping colours, the wacky matching costumes, the not-so-thinly veiled contempt for Sonny. All this and Cher's original face besides!
This is actually the fourth year running that I've posted this clip, and I consider it such a major achievement that it's still up and active I'm a-gonna let it ride...

They were so great. Sonny is "100% my type"...no joke!
When I found these clips on YouTube it had been about 30 years since I'd seen them, so I was watching them with a different mindset.
I gotta say, Sonny was cute. In a couple of those "slow burn" takes I found myself thinking: "What is her problem? He's cute."
Of course, in real life he was pretty sanctimonious and judgemental - totally at odds with the hippie image he had originally cultivated.
I remember as a very young gay looking forward to this show because Sonny was cuter that most of the guys on TV at that time. It was a bleak time to be a pre-teen homo trapped in Smallsbo, Washington.
The main reason I've left this clip up is that it's been such good comment bait. (sigh) I am such a whore for comments.
